Bradley O'Mahoney PR has done it again - for the second year running the consultancy has won a gold award at the annual Institute of Public Relations Cream Awards.

Senior consultant Geoff White won Best Low Budget Campaign for his creative media relations campaign to promote a women's construction course at the University of Northumbria.

The campaign played on the popularity of children's TV character Bob the Builder to introduce Betty the Builder, Sue the Surveyor and Polly the Project Engineer in an effort to attract 25 women to sign up for the course.

Coverage in newspapers and on TV and radio reached a staggering 18 million people.

Stepping Stones course lecturer Cheryl Williamson said: "The Bradley O'Mahoney media campaign gave us a very high profile which in turn made it easy to fill all the places on the course. I am delighted that Geoff's work has been recognised and rewarded at the highest level."

Bradley O'Mahoney also received rich desserts for its work in launching a new restaurant. Consultant Clare Maxwell won a silver award in the Best Consumer Campaign Category for her work in promoting the Thistle Hotel's Gengis restaurant and bar in Newcastle.

The awards follow success at last year's event, where the consultancy picked up winners' awards for Best Business to Business Campaign and Best Use of Photography.
